I use a golf cart as my UTV. I put a 6 inch lift and a good set of all terrian tires on it to make it go through the field a little easier. Total cost for all $1400. I have had it for roughly 14 years now.
Why I like it over a tractor: 1. Kids can help out easier, they have been able to drive the cart since they were 5 years old. Safer than on a big tractor. Wont go too fast, kids cant get hurt as easy. 2. Can move multiple people. I sell trees, sometimes the people want to see them before I dig. 3. Runs all summer on very little gas. 4. Very LIGHT. Can get across a wet lawn in the spring, when a tractor would leave 12 inch trenches. 5. Narrow, goes where tractors wont. 6. Almost anyone can drive it, no training like a tractor. 7. Turning radius. 8. Lots of other things I cant think of at the moment.
Now there are many other things a golf cart/four wheeler/UTV cant do, I dont use my golf cart to drag a log, haul firewood, etc.
