There are many full ride scholarships are given to athletes that become drs, lawers, scientists etc. If sports are so bad why do athletic departments generate millions of dollars for universities that fund the schools and keep them a float? Monies from sports go into education and research for the kids going there. I personaly know a sports doctor who developed a surgery for rotator cups that fixes them to where they are like new and thus prolonging the career of an athlete or normal everyday working man. My son had saw him last year as well as my older neighbor who's a farmer. My son didn't need surgery but the old gent did. I have to think that the surgery would have taken longer to figure out if it wasn't for sports. Many rehab practices were developed through sports so that's a little something to think about also.
