Ralph I am assuming a WD 45 tractor??? Just widen the rear wheels out and move the fenders out just a little. Then mount a used school bus seat between the fenders. I have done this for two or three fellows. I set the fenders where they just miss the seat. That way there is no way for a kid to fall off the rear. I fit a piece of plywood between the front legs of the seat so even if they slide off the front they can't go out under the seat. I then just make some steps on the back side to step up and over the seat. Not the easiest to get on but safe once you are on.
These guys used them that way on tractor rides.
There are guys around here turning the old school busses into camper/tail gate vans and such. You can find the seats for free.
