Guess I missed the "set up" on this- apparently a bank, obviously still a good commercial building, but they must want to build something else there- any idea what the story is?
We had a "vault" in the building when I worked for PCA in the 70's- concrete block room in the middle of the building, with a heavy duty fire door. Not much in there- petty cash was the only money (and it was in a locked safe), and we wheeled the customer records files in there each night.
Came in one morning, and the vault door was removed and was standing against an adjacent wall. When we saw what had happened, we all burst out laughing- turns out that to save room in the vault, the door had been installed so it swung out, instead of in- so the hinges were on the outside! Bandit had just popped the hinge pins out, and pulled the door out of its casing. Boss had been in charge when building was built, and just shook his head and said "You'd think I would have caught that. . ."
Nothing taken, no harm done- and we just put the door back on the hinges, and made doubly sure safe was locked every night.
