Hi, my brother did a similar thing by putting 16.9x28s on a 12" rim. The first set of tires were Goodyear with the regular tread and they worked good, they were replaced by Firestone with the short 23 degree tread angle and the problem with these tires were that you had to under inflate them or the center part of the tire was sticking up because the side walls had been squeeze in by the under sized rims. Also if you are going to be plowing with 20.8x34s you will require an 18" plow or the tire will be squashing the furrow down.
