We had a road tractor,GMC 318 detroit, starter or batteries were weak. Dad told the driver not to shut it off "during the day". That was friday he was the last driver in. Monday morning I was the first one in and it was sitting there running, oil drooling down the stacks. I was scared that the air boxes were full and if i revved it up it would run away it didn't but it sure smoked till it cleaned out. Ron

While I love straightening sheet metal, cleaning, and painting old tractors, I use every excuse to avoid working on the on the electrics. I find the whole process sheer mystery. I have picked up and attempted to read every auto and farm electrics book with no improvement in the situation. They all seem to start with a chapter entitled "Theory of Electricity". After a few paragraphs I usually close the book and go back to banging out dents.
