First vehicle was an 82 F-100 3spd with a 3.8 V6. My grandfather bought it new and gave it to me and my brother in the late 90's. It had sat up several years and had seen a lot of hard use so it was not in the best shape, but I learned how to work on vehicles and it became a solid, dependable truck. I drove it a few years, put a 302 in it when the bearings went bad, and drove it a few more. I have had quite a few since then, but the one I have now is an 80 F-100 with a 3 spd but it has a 300 six. No creature comforts but no payments and has been a very reliable daily driver for 2 years and counting. We always keep a good car for my wife to drive. The only remotely new truck I had was an 05 that I bought new. It met it's demise in a wreck, so I decided to drive old trucks that were paid for again.
