Would they have attacked the US mainland eventually? Maybe - after they digested China, The Philippines, Australia, India, Korea, etc. At the earliest, they MAY have been capable of launching strikes on our mainland in the mid-50's.
The attack on Pearl Harbor and subsequent attacks on Wake Island, the Philippines and Midway were warnings to us to STAY OUT of their area of influence. They misjudged our response.
