More specifically, the "older" guys who have been farming and wrenching on these old rigs for a while and are in this forum that help all us out..

Back in 1992 I got my first tractor - an Oliver 550. I got it from lurking on this forum so I would make an informed decision. Mrs. ShepFL figured it was just another of my wild a$$ed hobbies (hang gliders, old trucks, etc) and this to would pass like some other fancies.

So when it came time to fix it I did what I always do...I went online and found a few Oliver forums. Now, I will find a forum for anything that I am interested in...I know the information and experience that can be found in forums.

Anyways, I when got implements I Googled Antique Implement forums again YTMAG came up first. I clicked the link and came BACK here and started reading and researching and asking questions again. This is when I became a member of the forum.

At first, I didn't expect much. I really expected to find a group of people who really didn't want to talk to the "noob" who asks too many questions. What I FOUND was the most downhome, laid back group of people I have ever had the pleasure of having a conversation with.

Over time many of you have seen my sons grow up on here from little boys, to Eagle Scouts to now serving in USN and USMC. I recall a time meeting NE Cowman to pick up a pedestal in TN; meeting Lester in NH and getting to ride another red tractor plus so many other memmories.

You guys and gals have helped me, you have taught me, you have scolded me (to make me better...PS it worked!), and you have taken time to answer any questions that I may have had, no matter how stupid they sounded to you.

Did any of you HAVE to do this? Heck no, but you took the time out of your busy lives, out of your days/hours to sit in front of your computer and help me or anyone else who has come seeking help. Your knowledge and your advice have helped us to no end.

Although I am not here as much anymore due to work demands in time I hope to be considered one of the "older" guys as I continue to grow and learn from folks here.

I hope that the advice that I have received and what bit I have contributed will let me help that guy who thought he needed a new hobby and decided to pick that Oliver :) I can only hope.

Until then, I hope you guys will continue to put up with me and our new beginner brethren as they continue to bombard you with questions that Im sure you get tired of hearing.

Having said all of that...I just want to say extend a heart felt THANK YOU and I want to wish you ALL a very BLESSED CHRISTMAS and good health in the coming New Year. And to Kim and team GOD BLESS YOU! Without you and this forum none of this would be possible for any of us.

Here is to another good year in 2013...and to this forum and the folks who visit here; heres to our friendships and continued support for the new guys!

PS - if you can afford it pls support this forum by contributing via link below.

God Bless and Keep Y'all
