I see a change in the culture over the years. When I was young, very few mothers were out working. By the time I reached 10th grade, most of my schoolmates were coming home to empty houses. When my kids were growing up, I had to put mine in daycare at times, but they did go home from school to their grandmothers. For most of them, parents were someone you saw for a few minutes in the morning and on weekends. (Comments like they wished someone was home when they got there... or she knows how to make a real cake out of a box) Below I will post something my grandmother wrote in the 1960s.
We do need to take the time and teach the next generation all we can so they can take it ahead with them.
