Jay, You say you have a wood stove in the basement??? Rather than taking a chance of plugging the other stoves filters and such, maybe just use it on some wood to start your wood stove with??? It would not flash like fuel oil or gas. It would be a slow burning oil. I think it would work good in the wood stove.
I take the saw dust and shaving out of my wood working shop and soak them in used motor oil and burn them in my wood stove. You can really get a fire going fast with them. I would think the cooking oil would work the same and not be as messy as used diesel oil.
