Light gun oil on the metal be careful not to get it on the wood. Use a good furniture polish that is hand rubbed on the wood very, very lightly.Or nothing which is sometimes better. Keep in a place with good ventilation in a dry place in the house. To little moisture can dry out the wood and it will crack. I keep mine in a closet and above the mantle never had any problem even in this cold wet climate. Take down and wipe them every now and then don't handle the metal without gloves. Walt
