Could do a search for 'washing machine reviews'; I'm not sure that there's a quality set out there.....we live in a throw-away society. Our first set....Kenmore, iirc....lasted almost 30 years, with nary a problem. They were still working, but kinda dated/beat up, so when we added on to the house, swmbo wanted new ones. Bought Amana......mostly cause they were stainless and my work clothes wouldn't beat 'em up. They lasted less than 5 years........total junk. Maytag usta be considered the 'cadillac' of machines, at least around 'here', so that's what we have now. In 6 years, I've had the washing machine apart twice my-own-self and have had the repairman out once. No problems with the dryer........yet.
