They do offer many neat little turbo diesels in Europe but . . . many of the fuel mileage comparisons are bogus.
#1 the European and the Canadian gallons are bigger then our US gallons.
#2 the MPG tests in Europe use a different drive cycle.
There are no "magic" diesels in any parts of the world. The USA however makes it so costly to import some of them, the big so-called USA makers don't bother and I don't blame them. Last I checked there is only one true USA based car company left- that is Ford.
