Well......if you came in to Board of Review in front of me with that,I'd want a Michigan drivers license for the one claiming residency and depending on the other two members of the board,probably some kind of paperwork from a lawyer or the courts to prove seperation. Wouldn't have to be in just one name though. When my sister left my brother in law,we let him keep his PRE even though it took a while before he bought her out and got it in his name only. A transfer like that won't cause it to come uncapped,as long as all you do is take one name off.
But yea,like you said,can get complicated. You'd have to be pretty convincing when you pleaded your case.
