I wouldn't worry too much about original parts from a dealer becoming discontinued. When I.H.'s farm division was still in operation, they had more orphans than you could shake a stick at, as young as 20 years old. Yet,the numbers of old Farmalls and other equipment are slowly increasing because of people continuously rescuing them from fence-rows. How is this possible without parts support? If CNH BLUE ceased all parts support for 9700s tomorrow, I wouldn't find it much more than an inconvenience. Who is going to pay $1850 for a cab headliner anyway? I took it to an upholstery shop and had it fixed for $300, with better material.
