I used to try to support my local CNH dealer even though I got burned a few times on outrageous parts, until I had a problem with a service job. It was removal and replacement of a sleeve in the dual power transmission. which I brought to them as a part of the sub assembly. The tech said that it really should be cleaned up a little more and then he would put the inner assembly together for me. Well I foolishly thought maybe 1/2 hour for the sleeve, 1/2 for cleaning and 1/2 for reassembly and said yes. When I went to pick it up it was $1100.00 for 11 hours. I questioned the service manager who told me that he had questioned the tech who told him yes 11 hours. Sometime later I brought it up to the GM who I have known for a long time and all he could do was shrug so there was my answer. Since then I have found almost every Ford or NH part that I need elsewhere. Fiat has made it very clear that they will support the older stuff only at substantially higher profit level than on the ten years old or less equipment.
