I have a MF 50 diesel tractor which will not start/turn over. I was using it to move items so the field could be cut. I went back about 1/2 hour later and nothing. I took the starter off and had it checked at a local tractor repair shop. Starter is OK, I was told by the mechanic that it could be the safety switch which he told me it was located somewhere on the lower left side? Can someone tell me where exactly or close to where it is?? If not the safety switch what else would cause the tractor not to turn over?? I have tried to jump it, use screw driver on starter to by-pass switch, but the only thing that happens is the alternator will spin a little and the starter spins a little but it does not engage to start. Someone please help.
