back in the 70s wife's stepfather worked for a Canadian who had an excavation business and was operating in NH. He had a very big contract constructing a golf course, roads, utilities, and home sites around the golf course. He walked around with huge wads of cash. When the job was finished he disappeared and it was found that he owed lots to various vendors and the Gov't. A few employees were involved in helping to transport equipment to a field next to the Canadian border in Vermont. The equipment disappeared and it was said that he buried it in a gravel pit near the border.
