Don"t make any hard and fast rules. I have two less than a year apart. My oldest daughter was born 40 years old,never saw such a serious kid,she never worked until she got out of college but has held a job ever since. My youngest was the original wild child.I think her motto was,"Never tell the truth when a lie will do." She spent every penny she ever made,wrecked every car she ever owned. 4 years ago she got married and what a complete turn around. Her husband is Air Force and she single handedly has run their household including moving and setting up new apartments during his deployments.(She and our grandaughter stay with us while he is deployed.) Proudest day of my parenting life was the day I overheard one say to the other,"You know,Even though Mom and Dad act like azzholes they pretty much know what they"re talking about".
