Nathan, It sounds like you have a poorly insulated trailer. Have you considered a packaged heat pump with a gas pack? An electrical furnace really sounds like it will cost a small fortune to operate in South Dakota. You could use a tank if you don"t have lines to your place. Electrical heat is very expensive. I have no idea what your air conditioning needs are in hot weather, being that I have no idea how hot South Dakota summers are. The gas pack is a pretty efficient heat source, and even in a packed A/C unit external to the trailer, it should keep you nice and warm.
