I have a question for you all - this past spring I got the Massey (135, Continental Gas, 6-Spd) to at one point stop misfiring (popping sound out the air cleaner). I did this by rotating the distributor until I couldn"t hear the pops anymore.
I decided to take the Tractor for a road trip last week. I ran the tractor in 1L-2L-3L. The faster I went the more popping I heard. I also have never been successfully able to get the tractor to run in anything higher than 1H.
It acts like starving for air, lurches forward and cuts off. I"ve tried to shift at a lower RPM but it still likes to cut out. I should point out that at times running in 1H is chore too.
Any ideas? I want to take my rotary cutter to the welding shop and it"s 3-4 miles from the farm. I"d prefer it not take an hour.
