You're probably right about 12/7. The poofers and others who get their politically-correct panties in a wad about a derogatory name offending the sensibilities of the people who gave us Pearl Harbor should probably do a bit of research. They might learn what these people did in China---especially Nanking---and Korea and throughout the Asian sub-continent. They should learn who the "comfort women" were. They should read about the Bataan Death March and the medical experiments on American prisoners of war, and countless other atrocities. Then they might not be offended by a pejorative name. They might even come to realize that the internment of Japanese-Americans was not the greatest atrocity of the WWII era.
