This is the type of cheapo bale trailer we use a lot over here in Northern Ireland. Some are factory manufactured, but this one belongs to my neighbour and is simply made from the front axle of a Volvo truck with the steering bar welded up solid. It carries 6 bales.....4 in front of the axle and 2 behind. the side tubes are close enough together so as our rear mounted tractor lifter will set the bales on and drop down past the side tubes. The tubes on the rear mount lifter then fold up hydraulicly so you can hitch up to the same tractor and haul the load home. Once home the lifter will then lift the bales off again. As I use the front loader to lift the bales, I am thinking of making a similar trailer but with and extra cradle above the axle to take an extra 2 bales. Remember we haul grren chopped bales already wrapped in plastic on these trailers and each bale weighs nearly a tonne. Sam
