Was splittin' firewood a few days ago and came across a nice hunk of wood with straight grain. Thought it would make a pretty serving bowl.
Started using wood chisels to form it out. I wanted to make some rounded areas so I need a spoon gouge and did not have one. Looked on SEARs website and it said nearest store had one. Drove the 45 minutes to get to store. Went to look and couldn't find it. I asked clerk if he had any spoon gouges. He said "Nope, but I can order you one". I declined because I could order it and have it delivered to my door. Next, the clerk asks "What is a spoon gouge?".
How did he know that they did not have any if he didn't even know what in the heck it was?
