I'd go after another JD/Van Brunt. I've got a FB, but the fertilizer box was retrofitted to hold extra grain instead of fert. I can't think of any equipment that's so old and still so trouble free. Deere is still selling replacement parts for them too, but there are enough of them laying around that you usually don't need to go that far.
I paid $270 for the one I'm using now about 5 years ago. Then picked up another one with a broken hitch for $125 just in case I need the parts, but haven't needed anything yet.
Both of mine are 10ft drills. Nobody seems to want those. The 8ft version of the same drill are always high-priced though :)
