I dont own a grass drill but the FSA folks here i rent from use sunflower brand drills ,and they have worked good for me . you may have to go with a heavier drill though if your alfalfa and stuff is pretty thick. might even have to go with a notill. you may check with your local fsa office,here they charge $5 a acre to rent one, and its cheaper for me to just rent one as i need it. they just bought a couple of no till drills this year and if i remember correctly from when i talked to them three or four weeks ago they will be renting for $8 a acre. that price could vary by areas though.
