As far as tractor goes, there won't be enough difference in baler weight, etc to matter. You will have more baler capacity should you choose to take advantage of it. I went from a 315 to a 570, and didn't notice any difference in handling, just more capacity.

Edit: I bale with my Ford 5610, and pull an 18' kicker rack. The 5610 has had the smoke screw twisted a little bit, so I'm guessing it would be similar to your 1655, and it does just fine!
