I don't know anything about Solar City but I doubt the $15 per month claim. I own all my own solar equipment and I pay $17 per month just to be hooked to the grid so I can sell back. If any equipment fails - I have to pay for it. In the case of a lease like Solar City - they have to pay for repairs. Not sure how they'd make money if not getting paid anything. That is - unless there is huge incentive going in their pockets from the government. I have a 6000 watt system and make 110-120% of usage per year. I am also a low consumption user. So, a typical "high" user in dark areas of NY woud need a 10,000-12,000 watt system . That's big.
