The fuel shut off selenoid may be staying closed stopping the fuel at the carb. i have a 756 gas that the previous owner burned up (failure to disconnect the battery) while they tried to clean/change the sediment bowl and gas tank. It would run awhile with the choke out then die. Replaced the fuel shut off -no more trouble, but I still has to replace wiring and seat after the fire. Let us know what you find.
