I never quite understood the whole science of genetics -

I know seedless varieties of fruit come from mixing two genetically different plants of one variety - I think it's like one plant that has two sets of chromosones with another plant that has four - getting a plant that has three sets - and won't create seeds.

When the seeds that will be seedless are planted - they do have to have "normal" varieties around them to polinate with for some reason.

I guess what I'm trying to say is - I have no idea!
