We used to sell tomatoes and other garden stuff at the farm gate. Grew around 2000 tomatoe plants each year. When you buy your seed, you can check to see if it is prone to green shoulders , cracking . VM wilt, ect. Some types will split right after a good rain that follows a prolonged dry spell.
