I recently gave my daughter the down payment to move into her new house. She's got a good head on her shoulders and is living the values we taught. She is a new school teacher so extra money is hard to come by. It was cheaper for her to buy than rent. Rents in Houton have gotten high.
I don't "loan" money to family anymore. I gift it to them if I feel the need or not at all. I've found when I "loaned" it to them and they don'/can't pay it back, it destroys the relationship.
