I'm in NW Louisiana so I probably won't get as much rain as MB58 but we're expecting a pretty nice shower. The wind has been real blustery here today, will be worse tomorrow. One gust this afternoon got up around 40 mph, I'd guess, and dropped a dead pine on top of one of my gates. Just missed my shop. I hadn't even noticed the thing was dead.
Looks like the eye will pass directly over my wife's property about 60 miles east of here, and over my in-laws' place.
Driving around town today it was interesting to see convoys of utility trucks moving through. Strange to see names like Idabell, Oklahoma, and Logan, West Virginia on the doors of the trucks. They're staging the trucks here to have them ready to move in whatever direction they need to go tomorrow. As I passed these guys I gave them a salute and a big friendly wave. Wouldn't want to be in their shoes the next couple of weeks.
