I don"t know how long it would last on a tractor stored outside, though I"d say pretty good as it leaves an oily film after you wipe it down. Make sure you use a lint free rag otherwise it will leave bits of lint stuck all over it. It"s made from lanolin, so your tractor will smell like a sheep, but it"s not a bad smell. 2 spray cans should be plenty to spray a regular. And it does leave a fine rich wet look to that old rust, and it brings out a rich, deep look to old paint as well. I like it well enough that I plan on using it on more tractors.
