Above the law?

The top public official in Oakland County, Michigan was seriously injured in a car crash this past weekend. His car, driven by a retired state trooper, struck another car in an intersection. The official suffered multiple broken bones, including both wrists, but is expected to make a full recovery. The driver's injuries are apparently more serious.

Neither man had fastened his seat belt; apparently they both believed themselves to be above the law. What they failed to take into account is that no one is above the laws of physics.
