We had good for life permits - and magically over night they were all invalidated.
I was younger at the time and didn't even know it was happening. I'm sure some people put up a stink, but I don't remember hearing of anything.
I just got a letter in the mail (actually to my OLD address - thankfully my parents were still there) telling me that my license was no longer good.
Just like that.
My state loves me and wants to protect me, it's all for the good of the collective. I simplly can't be trusted with firearms, unless I'm willing to pay several hundred dollars for my "right" to bear arms.
