Where I work we have a '84 IH HD truck which has never been equipped with seperate 4-way hazards. It has light set up just like a car that stop flashing when the brake pedal is applied. I thought HD trucks have had seperately activated flashers forever and this is the only truck I've seen this way. This is an air brake equipped truck. This has never been an issue for these twenty odd years but now one driver insists it be retrofit. Ever seen such a "new" truck this way? And how bad to rewire it?
