On each of these parcels were a few small barns, wood slat corn cribs and remnants of old farm equipment and such, all of which had been abandoned years before. I was about six years old and helped with the feeding. When done feeding, while my uncle counted heads I"d explore those buildings. Nobody seemed to care much about them so asking questions was useless. I later found early plat maps and discovered who most likely built the buildings and used the farm equipment. Got no farther than that after asking some of the descendants if they knew the history of the buildings and machinery. Fortunately, I have the history of my Grandpa"s 180 acre farm along with pictures and some audio tape recordings of an inteview with Grandpa.
