Don't every try to pull a fast one with your insurance company. Have the installation inspected by your insurance agent, then find a chimney sweep with the proper accreditation and insurance and have it cleaned every year. I could do it myself but then I don't have any proof that it was cleaned if anything happens. No problems here and don't want any.
