Ask if fas had any major work dne recently such as an engine rebuild. Of course you want to see the recepts. You can put $3000+ in a 427 rebuild if the block has been rebored with o/s pistons, heads completely gone through, etc. It adds up fast if you replace the clutch, transmission bearings, etc. The current owner may have more money in it than the truck is worth and trying to recover his costs. It is still over priced though.
If you are serious give it a good inspection for rust and patches. Paint was going through changes in this era after they took the lead out, seems like '73 and '74 were the worst years but it has been a long time since I took a good look at one.
