2 or 3 years ago, before scrap went up, I picked up a "79 tandem chevy C70 with 427 and 282 clark for $500 bucks and drove it home! It"s just a single drive with a drag axle. 20" rubber is around 80%! No bed at all though, but I had one to put on it.
Was just too good to pass up. BTO put the bed on a newer truck and just wanted old truck to disappear. Generally though I"d think the 2500 range is about right.
