Yeah, I know. I take better care of my machinery than I do myself. If the tractor is hurting a little I massage it back to health right away.

Now I'm finding out the shoulder I had surgery on a couple of years ago does not like a crutch at all. There's a stabbing pain over the end of it when I push down on the crutch with that arm. The shoulder is doing great otherwise other than a little crunching when I rotate it. Just took a left over pain pill from the shoulder days and all it does is make me mellow and sleepy.

Now, to make this tractor related. I just got the SC out of the shop after a brake/brake seal job. The brakes work as good as they can be expected to work. Put a kit in the carb and now she just purrs. The reason for working on the carb hasn't gone away though. It has been slowly flooding overnight for quite some time and that was NOT cured. I carefully checked the new float valve, spent plenty of time setting the float, made sure the seat is screwed in snug, the float itself does not leak, but this morning she was flooded again. Not bad enough to run rivers of gas, but enough to make it smoke and chug until it cleared it's throat. Maybe I can get back out there and sit on the creeper chair and take it back apart. Gotta stay busy somehow! Oh, Dave, about the hammer. I've done that many times only on the left thumb. I'm right handed, you know. This is the left knee so I should hammer the unblemished right thumb. Not gonna happen. Left hand isn't cooridinated enough to swing a hammer LOL! Jim

Today's Featured Article - Show Coverage: Godfrey, Illinois Country Days - by Cindy Ladage. Except for last fourth of July's Old Gold show in Springfield, Illinois, I don't remember when it was so hot. Nevertheless, the heat didn't keep vendors and visitors alike from enjoying the third annual Country Day's Event. Jane Elliott said the event was originally a one man show. "Barry Seiler, owner of Country Town Farm Supply store used to invite people up to the Johne Deere store. He would give hats and a free meal for everyone that brings a tractor." Elliott said while this ... [Read Article]
