I have used an Ortho product for the last several years which I think is Bugs Be Gone. It is a granular product which I spread with a small yard fertilizer and water in. It is very effective and a once a year application. I get it at Lowes and just paid $13 for a bag to cover 20,000 sq. ft. I spray foundations and sidewalks with Sevin which is effective but must be repeated monthly or so. No problem from the trees in my yard. After watering in the Ortho product is safe for pets or younguns.
