Had a similar thing happen to a bull that was staying here a couple of years ago.We were offered a good bull for keeping him for the summer so I got the owner over right away because I had never seen this before. We figured bug bite or bee sting and the bumps went away but took a really long time.Later I noticed a bee nest inside the tubing of a hay feeder. An old cattleman later told me that this sort of reaction to a bee sting does occasionally happen in cattle.I assume that some are more sensitive or somewhat allergic to bee stings. The bull was a Red Angus and your cow is Angus cross but none of our cows have Angus blood and were not affected so I wonder if it could be specific to Angus cattle. The bull had 3 bumps on his body and one eye swelled shut at first but with time made a full recovery. He didn"t get any sort of treatment partly because he was a bit grumpy for a while and when we went into the pasture he acted as if he had to protect his cows from us.
