Yep, know it well. I helped plant those trees!!!! My uncle had a big Cat, dont rememeber what it was, but he cut the trench and layed the waterpipe, and I rode behind him on a smaller Cat pulling this tree planter thing. Had a little Mexican that would keep it loaded for me. Spent many hours after school and weekends over there planting those trees. Apple farm is gone, so are most of the trees, but the old homestead is still there, and a few areas now have houses on them. Do you rememebr on down the road a little peice, the guy who had the old McCormick pull behind combine, Mr Owens, he was my great uncle......
Anyways, rumor has it the trees gave out, stopped producing apples, but I heard from one of the Mexicans who worked there, that INS came in and shut the place down, and the French werent going to pay the fines, so they hired a broker to sell it all off. O know one of the lots has a "roadside" flower market there. Next time Im over that way, Ill snap some pics.
