Vehicle dealers are the closest thing to a "legal" scam operation and are still up to the same old games, they just change the wording and how they sell them. The last thing a dealer wants on a new vehicle is cash. It cuts them out of overrides, commisions from loan companies, etc. They want us to buy based on "payments", how much can you "afford" per month? And, you think the hard selling is over when that crafty salesperson turns you over to the mild mannered "office manager" to process your paperwork? Think again. Some of the highest proftis come from that front office "non salesperson" that cons you in to believing that they do not like car salesman. Their job is to finish you off. They appeal to your tender side, get you to purchse very high profit margin add ons and insurance that is a total waste of your money. IF they can get you to add these itmes in with your loan, they make even more. There are very few honest car sales people and the ones that process your paperwork are even worse.
