You either got a batch of gasoline with an out of spec RVP(Reid Vapor Pressure) or you have an extremely hot spot near your tractor fuel tank.
Vapor in the bowl area could result in a serious fire or explosion. Todays gasolines are much lower on RVP than they were years ago, so I can only imagine the problems they had running that tractor on gasoline from years ago.
