That's one close call. Glad to hear it didn't turn into a major fire.
Had that happen in the shop ceiling where a ceiling fan was plugged in. Ceiling is wood and just by luck I was in the shop when the outlet started arcing. The ceiling fan is low powered and draws low amperage. Only thing I can think of is something acted as a conducter between the hot and neutral prongs of the plug. Jim
