Brand is Branson 6530c. Had it since Sept '07. Have had no problems with it and love it. It has a swing out door latch such that when it is cooler and you don't want to run the AC you can flip out this latch arm and latch the door with about a 2" gap at the front.
I was running my new drum mower in B4 of a C4 range tranny and the field had some variances. Out of the clear blue I hear what sounds like a cannon going off and the right door glass just shatters into a 1000 pieces.
I didn't hit anything and if someone took a shot at me, either I wouldn't be writing this or there would be another broken glass on the opposite side of the cab. Ha! Doubt that.
The glass is about 3/16-1/4" and has the rubber seal around the perimeter.
I did take a closer look at the 4 ea studs I saw yesterday, plus 2 on the handle and I did see a rubber washer. Didn't take a nut off to see if there was a sleeve around the mounting stud.
Looking back, either it went through a temp stress since we had 48 Ngt B4 last and the sun was shining on the door. Could have warmed it up before the frame expanded. The way it went all at once I'd say that was the case.....like when the rear window blows out of a car on a hot day.
Otherwise it was just fatigue from vibrating for a couple of hours.
One thing for sure. The AC WILL get to run in the future when I don't get cool enough from the rear window or sun roof being open.
